The program first debuted on May 28 as the original Amazon Echo Alexa-Voice-enabled speaker, which debuted about few months ago. According to the Wall Street Journal, the idea behind reporting it at the time was that if you asked Alexa to order an item, such as shampoo, it would first look at your order history and offer you a previous shampoo product to buy. But if you don’t order any shampoo, Alexa (Amazon) will “recommend one from Amazon Choice program.”
